I was born in The Netherlands to Pakistani/Canadian parents, grew up in Geneva and have had the pleasure of calling Beirut, Montréal, London, and now Toronto, home.
I graduated as an Engineer from McGill University in Montreal, and also hold an MBA and a Masters in Analytics. Prior to joining White Star, I held a number of different roles that were data-centric and product focussed. I began my career with early stage start-ups as a Data Analyst, before finding myself with a tech and design firm as a Data Scientist designing human-centric smart products.
I’m passionate about technology and tools that enhance how we live and work. What I love most about working at White Star is being in a position to support founders in tech who have compelling visions for the future.
Music is a huge part of my life as I grew up playing guitar. From Jazz to progressive instrumental rock, I love listening to anything that is technical, compelling, and well composed. Artists that inspire me to be a better musician include John Coltrane, Tycho, and Animals as Leaders.
I’m also an avid reader and a huge fan of Science Fiction. I love getting lost in new worlds and the futures envisioned by authors like Isaac Asimov and Arthur C. Clarke. Lately I’ve been on a Fantasy kick absorbed in the Stormlight Archive – a series I’d highly recommend to anyone looking to get into the genre!
