Jakob Schreyer
Venture PartnerI was born in Bamberg Germany, but my entrepreneurial journey has led me through multiple cities across Europe and North America.
Having accumulated a decade of operational insights in Germany, I now split my time between Lisbon and Berlin. I started my career in Munich and later ventured to New York, where I collaborated with Red Bull’s creative agency, Kastner & Partner. Berlin called me back in 2011, where I co-founded orderbird – one of Europe’s leading Point of Sales systems for the hospitality industry.
Serving as its CEO and subsequently as Chief Strategic Officer, I witnessed our company grow phenomenally, culminating in our acquisition by Italy’s payments giant, NEXI, in 2022 for over €140 million. With a passion for the fintech and the hospitality sector, I continue to advise the new leadership, ensuring that the company’s vision stays on course.
White Star Capital’s position as a truly global fund is the perfect combination for me, and provides many opportunities to support German founders with local knowledge but also the ability to learn from a global network. I am very excited to join such an impressive team.
On a personal side I enjoy spending time with my wife and two beautiful daughters in Portugal, surfing, or staying active with all kinds of outdoor activities. Most recently, I’ve joined forces with the “Zeitgeist” Family Office in Berlin, working towards fostering early-stage entrepreneurship and collaboration.
