Yannick Folla
Head of AI & AutomationI was born and raised in Montreal to Spanish and Canadian parents, and also lived for a short stint in Barcelona — though Montreal is the city I’m proud to still call home.
I studied Entrepreneurship at HEC Montréal before starting my career at White Star Capital as an analyst. Since then, I’ve led product and tech initiatives as CEO of Oamo, helped scale Figment as an early team member, ultimately leading its API and Developer Tools business, and co-founded 0x Society, Canada’s first NFT gallery celebrating digital art.
Today, I serve as Head of AI and Automation at White Star Capital, building AI-enabled tools and automations to support our portfolio companies and global fund operations.
At its core, my passion is solving problems. AI gives me new ways to think differently, experiment boldly, and approach challenges creatively — often leading to solutions that feel almost magical.
Outside of work, I’m an avid reader — averaging over 50 books a year, from thrillers and horror to fantasy and my inner geek’s favourite, LitRPGs. I play tennis multiple times a week and can often be found embodying a chaotic Bard at the Dungeons & Dragons table.
