Alex Wilson
PrincipalBorn and raised in the UK, I studied at Imperial College, where I learnt to build aircrafts and space shuttles.
I started my career in the engineering world, where I spent some time with Red Bull Racing and KIER, one of the largest construction companies in the UK. I then joined Goldman Sachs in their Investment Banking team, advising large insurance and internet companies, as well as smaller fintechs on capital raising and M&A initiatives before joining White Star Capital in 2018.
We’ve all had experiences that we weren’t happy with. Most of us simply move on, but founders have the courage to build something to change it for the better. It’s not easy, but when it works, the outcome can change millions of lives, and so I count myself extremely lucky to have the opportunity to partner with them on their journeys.
I grew up in a football household and this was actually where I was first introduced to entrepreneurship, helping out with the football club that my parents founded. So if I am not watching football, then I am almost definitely playing.
I am also a huge manga and anime fan, holding a few first editions of some of the most popular mangas in recent times. I think it’s pretty tough to find better storytellers than mangakas!
