The Investment

Packaging has become a central point to any brand's retail strategy, and is viewed as an extremely effective marketing channel.

However for millions of SMEs worldwide, the ability to craft packaging befitting for their brand has been limited to large businesses with sufficient scale and in-house design expertise.

Having faced this exact issue themselves, Wojciech, Maciej and the team founded Packhelp, a B2B marketplace for customised packaging, that connects businesses requiring customisation and flexibility, to printing houses requiring scale. They have developed a fully automated online platform which includes a 3D design, where businesses can design and order highly customised packaging and receive them in as little as 2 days. Packhelp already counts over 10,000 customers in over 30 countries across Europe, including EA, L’Oreal, and H&M, and is poised well to tackle this $40bn market, and make packaging accessible to all.

Why We Invested

Backing Packhelp to democratise custom packaging

Nicholas Stocks

This investment is White Star Capital’s first investment in Central and Eastern Europe, and demonstrates two of our core beliefs: 1) great companies will more and more come from regions other than Silicon Valley, and 2) we increasingly operate in a global playing field, where companies no longer compete with domestic players but rather with regional or global players from day 1.

Packhelp announced a €40 million (~$45.6 million) Series B round to fuel its next phase of growth as it eyes expanding its regional operations. The round is led by Paris-based B2B tech growth fund InfraVia Growth, with participation from PortfoLion, FJ Labs and the European Investment Bank. Prior investors Speedinvest, ProFounders, Market One Capital, Inovo, White Star Capital and business angels also joined the round — which brings Packhelp’s total raised to €52 million ($60 million).
